What is an anonymous FTP?

Setting up an anonymous FTP allows anyone to access the public.ftp folder without providing any login and password. It is considers as a security threat to your website if you authorize people to download files through anonymous FTP. Therefore it is highly recommended to only authorize the users having username and password to access FTP account.
